In a surprising announcement to a packed hearing room, House Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman James Oberstar pulled HR4016, the HMSTA2009 bill that contains the ban on wetlines, from the Committee agenda on November 5th . He scolded industry for waiting so long to raise issues with the bill and announced that there would be a field hearing on the bill in Baltimore the week of November 16. That hearing will include a trip to an NTTC associate member repair facility Baltimore Cargo Tank Services Inc.
