Truck-Involved Crash Fatalities and Injuries Declined in 2008

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2008 early edition of Traffic Safety Facts shows that truck occupant deaths deceased from 805 to 677 (-16 percent). All fatalities in truck-involved crashes declined from 4,822 and 4,229 (-12 percent). The number of estimated injuries in truck-involved crashes fell from 101,000 to 90,000 (-11 percent). In the last 10 years the reduction in fatalities was 21.5 percent and in injuries 37 percent. To view the 2008 Traffic Safety Facts click here (corrected link).
