Last week, two bills in the Oklahoma House & Senate, focusing on Distracted Driving, passed Committee and are ready for a vote. SB 1908 would allow a police officer to ticket a driver for distracted driving if they violate another traffic law. Distracted driving could include talking on a cell phone, texting or eating.
HB 3250 would ban all Oklahoma drivers from texting while driving. It also would prohibit drivers under 18, who have either a learner’s permit or an intermediate driver’s license, from using a cell phone to talk or text when driving.
